Fieber Festival is dedicated solely to Latin American, Portuguese and Spanish women artists with residence in Berlin happening this week, October 5th to 8th at the Pfefferberg, Schönhauser Allee 176, 10119, Mitte. With more than 40 artists, this year’s edition will have its largest count of performers and artists since it started six years ago. Combining theater, photography, Video-Art, live performance, dance, literature, music, installation art, and cinema, the Fieber Festival is one of the most ambitious projects to find, compared to what the La Biennale di Venezia is on a world scale.

The Latin population of Berlin, according to a survey from 2011, is of 5%, (including Spaniards, Italians, Portuguese and, Latin Americans). This number may seem low, but it represents the second largest community in the city, only surpassed by the Arabs. But this was six years ago, before the largest migration wave from Latin countries that it is still happening.

On a biannual basis, Fieber Festival started on 2011 with little more than 30 artists and has been growing since up to the point to be kicking in more than well in Berlin. Back then, there was only a fistful of artists meeting the requirements of the Fieber that could be part of it. Today, that number has significantly changed making the Fieber Festival one of the starlets of October’s cultural offer.

This year’s Fieber Festival will feature:
